Make the Most of Your To-Do List

Ever feel like you make a million to-do lists just to complete 1 or 2 items? It’s easy to make long lists of wishful thinking, but a to-do list is a list of things you want to get done! That’s why we need to rethink our to-do lists. 

A good way to rethink your to-do list is to create a weekly plan of tasks. Every week you should be doing the same groups of tasks, but breaking them up in an achievable way. Maybe your to-do list is loaded with cleaning tasks- if that’s the case, break your home into 5 or 6 sections so that the work is spaced out over a week. Maybe your to-dos are filled with kid projects- pick a different focus for every day of the week and fill in the activities that fit your focus.

This switch may take some time to adjust to. Maybe your husband always needs his blue shirt on Wednesdays but laundry is done on Mondays and Fridays. Adjust your schedule! You can do a small load every morning if that’s what works for you. The main goal of these lists are to make your life easier, not harder.

Remember that to-do lists can be helpful, but also can be overwhelming. Make your lists in a way that benefits you. Be flexible, but also productive with your time.
